Tell us about your horse
Hancocks Too Blue, 15-year-old Registered Quarter Horse mare.

What is your discipline?
Trail riding.

Do you and your horse compete?
N/A.

Has your horse’s unsoundness kept you out of any competitions?
Yes. Cannot ride due to her injury.

What current issues is your horse suffering from?
Blue is 3/5 lame on her right hind leg. X-rays cleared any bone damage. During diagnostics, blocking at the stifle improved her movement by 80%. A later ultrasound (LSU vet hospital) revealed inflammation behind the femoral patella and femoral medial joint. Vet suspected cartilage damage and possible fusion but could not confirm via ultrasound.

What have you tried so far to help your horse with these issues?
Red light therapy, cold hosing, chiropractic.

Has this horse been diagnosed by a vet?
Yes.

If your horse has had injections, when was the last and where?
Only the diagnostic block in her stifle for the lameness exam – Jan 25, 2024.

Is your horse currently on supplements?
Yes. Osteomax (2 pumps, twice daily for 3 months, no change), Equinety XL, and Vitamin E.

If you are selected for the Precision Challenge, what results are you hoping for?
A supplement that can accelerate healing of cartilage damage and reduce inflammation without needing stifle injections.
